Mr LUCHETTI (MACQUARIE, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I ask the Prime Minister: Has his attention been directed to the statement by Mr. J. H. Devitt, retiring President of the Australian Automobile Association, that the Commonwealth Government has failed to give adequate attention to roads and road safety and is toying with road safety programmes? In view of the ever increasing terrible toll of death and destruction on Australian roads will the right honorable gentleman initiate new and positive action in concert with the States to deal with this frightening problem? If not, what does he intend to do about this urgent matter that affects every person in our community.
