Mr SWARTZ - Whether plants or seeds are imported commercially or privately they are still subject to the quarantine law. Recently I took the opportunity to issue a warning on this matter because a journal in Australia published an invitation to people to exchange plants with people in countries overseas. This cannot be done unless the incoming plants are handled through the normal quarantine processes. I think people should understand that quite clearly. The quarantine laws are very strict regarding the importation of seeds and plants, and they will be adhered to strictly.
