Mr HAROLD HOLT (HIGGINS, VICTORIA) (Treasurer) - The honorable gentleman's question reminds me of an anecdote about a former Leader of the Australian Labour Party who asked a United States taxi driver whether his countrymen ever became confused because bills of all denominations of dollars were printed in the same colour. He received the reply: " Oh, no, Sir. We all can read." I believe that the Australian people have enough sense not to need the word " cents " on their coins.
