Mr REYNOLDS (BARTON, NEW SOUTH WALES) - My question is directed to the Postmaster-General. Is he aware that non-payment of local government rates by Commonwealth Government instrumentalities is contributing to the heavy burden being borne by property-owning ratepayers? Now that the Government has decided to run the Post Office on what it calls normal business lines and is charging £15,000,000 interest on the capital debt of this public utility, does this mean that henceforth the Post Office will pay local government rates and State taxes that are commonly paid by other commercial enterprises? Is it a fact that the Commonwealth Bank pays local government charges?
