Mr CLAY (ST GEORGE, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I ask the Treasurer whether it is true that an officer of his department is making a special and semiofficial investigation of the textile industry for the purpose of pinpointing the source and extent of its grievous wounds. Since he has already been informed by spokesmen for the textile industry that in their opinion their troubles stem mainly from the credit squeeze, does the Treasurer feel that all the spokesmen for the industry are liars or exaggerators and, as such, are not to be trusted?
