Mr CLARK (DARLING, NEW SOUTH WALES) - My question is directed to the Prime Minister. Is it correct that the Government has abandoned or shelved proposals to build what is known as the Pioneer Highway from Bourke to the Northern Territory? As this highway would serve the Channel country of Queensland, would add millions of pounds to the finances of the beef industry, would save millions of pounds by preventing drought losses and would also open up the back country of New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory for settlement and development, will the Prime Minister give an assurance that the undertakings given in the Administrator's Speech at the opening of this Parliament, and in the statement of the Minister for National Development that this work would be carried out, will be honoured?
