Mr CALWELL (MELBOURNE, VICTORIA) - I direct a question to the Acting Prime Minister. Is the right honorable gentleman in a position to make a statement concerning: (a) The discussions that were held last Saturday between the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Mr. Dean Rusk, and the Soviet Foreign Minister, Mr. Gromyko, on world affairs and particularly in reference to the situation in Laos; (b) any other developments concerning events in that troubled area and the discussions that are now proceeding at the conference of the South-East Asia Treaty Organization in regard to Laos; and, (c) the reported and alleged statements of ViceAdmiral Sir Roy Dowling in regard to Australia's preparedness in the event of war in Laos?
