Mr BEATON (BENDIGO, VICTORIA) - I ask the Minister for Primary Industry a question supplementary to that addressed to him by the honorable member for New England. In reaching its decision to divide advances to wheat growers into two instalments, one of 9s. in February and the other of 2s. in April of next year, did the Government consider the extra financial burdens certain to be borne by Victorian growers because of the bagging, temporary storage and transport costs resulting from the record crop? Did the Government consider the effect of its own credit squeeze which, despite assurances, is preventing farmers from obtaining necessary seasonal financial aid? Is the Minister aware of the hostile reaction of the Victorian Wheat and Woolgrowers Association and the Australian Wheat Growers Federation to this measure? Having regard to these matters, will the Government reconsider its decision with a view to giving special consideration to farmers who may encounter difficulty in financing preparations for next year's operation?
