Mr FAIRBAIRN (FARRER, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I desire to ask the Minister for Primary Industry a question. Is it a fact that the chairman of the Australian Wool Bureau, who has just returned from a meeting of the International Wool Secretariat in London, has said that an increase of the wool levy to £1 a bale is urgently required to counteract the effect of the promotion of synthetics? Will the consideration of this request have to wait until the completion of the inquiry into the wool industry, in which case it will be at least two years before any increase in the wool levy can be introduced and become effective, or will the Government treat the request as a separate matter?
