Mr HAROLD HOLT - I have not had brought to my attention particular instances of the kind mentioned by the honorable member. I think what the Government has had to say in relation to the condition of the building industry as a whole is well known. Of course, it is not the Government's intention that such essential works as schools, hospitals and other building projects of that character should be restricted. We believe that, by removing some of the pressure on the building industry, especially the pressure arising from construction of a speculative nature, some of these essential works can be carried om at a lower cost.
