Mr CASEY - Mr. Yoshida, a former Prime Minister of Japan, arrived in Australia, I think yesterday, on a private visit. I need hardly remind the House of the great distinction of Mr. Yoshida, who has had a long career in the service of his country, both as Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in particular, as Prime Minister of Japan for two periods totalling about seven years. Mr. Yoshida, who is visiting Australia for the first time, is accompanied by a distinguished entourage including, I think, three exministers of the Liberal-Democratic Party in Japan and at least two industrialists of considerable importance. Mr. Yoshida's visit, which is expected to last for about a week, is greatly welcomed by the Australian Government, even though it is a private visit. Every courtesy will be extended to him by this Government.
