Mr Calwell - I submit, Sir-

Mr SPEAKER - Order! The honorable member for Kingsford-Smith is suspended from the service of the House for 24 hours. (The honorable member for KingsfordSmith thereupon withdrew from the chamber.)

Mr SPEAKER - The honorable member for Parkes will come to order. I have already directed attention to his conduct, and I ask him to observe the forms of the House.

Mr, Haylen. - Certainly, Sir

Mr Calwell - I submit, Mr. Speaker, that there has been a certain misunderstanding in connexion with the conduct of the honorable member for Kingsford-Smith. There was a good deal of interruption, and honorable members on the front bench immediately to the left of the Chair did not hear all that was happening. I think that you will find the honorable member for Kingsford-Smith prepared to apologize for his conduct and that therefore you might permit him to return to the House.

Dr Evatt - I support that. I submit that the incident was contributed to by interruptions from the Australian Country party benches, all through the question.
