Mr BEALE - The Government has about 100 of these stations mentioned by the honorable member, scattered throughout the Commonwealth, for the purpose of recording fluctuations in what is known as background radiation, partly for gathering scientific information which might be useful in connexion with nuclear tests, and partly because of obligations which Australia has as a member of the international committee concerned with radiation. I cannot say whether there is any such station in the Wollongong area. I would say " No " to that part of the honorable member's question which asks me whether I will make the records available. They are of a highly technical character and they would convey nothing to anybody in this House. I cannot remember any other aspects of the honorable member's question, but if he cares to see me privately 1 shall be glad to give him what information I can on this matter.
