Mr WEBB (STIRLING, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - I ask the Minister for Labour and National Service whether 4,466 persons were registered as unemployed in Western Australia at the end of March, 1957, compared with 3,211 at the end of March, 1956. If this is a fact, will the Minister advise whether the Commonwealth Government intends to take any action to ease credit restrictions in Western Australia or to stimulate public works, either by giving financial assistance to the State Government or by commencing urgently needed Commonwealth public works, to take up the slack of unemployment?
