Mr Ward d asked the Prime Minister, upon notice -

1.   Has he received a telegram from a Mr. Kraegen. secretary of the New South Wales Country Sawmillers Association, inviting him to inspect huge quantities of stackedtimber on the north coast of New South Wales, to visit 83 closed sawmills, and to meet 500 unemployed timber workers in that area?

2.   If so, did this invitation arise from his recent statement that there was no crisis in the building industry?

3.   Does he intend to accept the invitation?

4.   Does he still adhere to his statement regarding the building industry?

Mr Menzies - I have received a telegram from Mr. Kraegen and have told him it would not he practicable for me to visit timber districts. I have already made known my views on this matter, and I refer the honorable member to my recent remarks if he has any doubt as to my attitude.
