Mr Ward d asked the Prime Minister, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact that the State Housing Ministers recently conferred in Melbourne, following which they unanimously declared that lack of finance was the only thing at present which was preventing an increase in the number of homes constructed?

2.   Was the Minister for National Development invited to be present at this conference, but did he choose not to attend?

3.   Did the Minister for National Development accuse the State Ministers of turning their conference into a political gathering?

4.   Does he subscribe to the assertion of the Minister for National Development?

Mr Menzies - A very good statement on this matter was made by the Minister for National Development, in the Senate, on 21st March last. I suggest to the honorable member that he should read it.
