Mr BOWDEN (GIPPSLAND, VICTORIA) - I wish to ask a question of the Minister for Social Services. In both the South Australian and the Victorian press, I think only a week ago, the honorable gentleman was reported to have said in a speech which he delivered to the Advisory Council for the Physically Handicapped -

We cannot afford to waste the services ofolder people able and willing to work who are discarded by the near blasphemy of a compulsory retiring age.

I ask the Minister: Did he say that? If he did, is it to be presumed that he is opposed to a compulsory retiring age?
