Mr FAILES (LAWSON, NEW SOUTH WALES) - My question, which is directed to the Treasurer, has relation to the Commonwealth Aid Roads Act, which provides, amongst other things, that 40 per cent, of the money allocated to the States under that act must be spent on rural roads other than main roads, and that the States must submit an audited report for each financial year showing how the money has been spent. I ask the Treasurer whether the States have complied with this latter requirement for the last financial year, and, if so, whether the money has been spent in the way intended by the legislation.
