Mr HOWSE (CALARE, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I refer to the difficulties being experienced by many people who wish to send fat to Great Britain. In view of the shortage of tin-plate will the Minister for Commerce and Agriculture consider amending the present regulations which restrict the weight of fat in a parcel to 2 lb.? Has the British Government indicated to the Australian Government that it is prepared to reduce the rate of postage on gift parcels? If not, will the Australian Government approach the British authorities to see whether a reduction can be obtained of postage rates on such, parcels?
