Dame ENID LYONS (DARWIN, TASMANIA) - Can the Minister representing the Minister for Social Services say whether it is a fact that, under the Social Services Consolidation Act, introduced by this Government, the amount received by a contributor from a friendly society sick fund is taken into consideration when determining the amount of sickness benefit payable under the act? If so, does not the Minister regard this as unfair to members of friendly societies who contribute to sickness funds, while also contributing to the National Welfare Fund?
