Mr BEAZLEY (FREMANTLE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - Will the Minister for Air say whether technical officers of the Department of Air are located abroad in order that the department may be kept fully informed of the latest technical developments in aviation? Has the honorable gentleman seen reports of the use of a combination of gas turbines and propellors in a new British airliner that is considered in American flying circles to be likely to revolutionize and greatly cheapen flying? Is there a possibility of technical officers of the Department of Air making inquiries in Great Britain with a view to the introduction of this type of aircraft into Australia?
