Mr CHIFLEY - As a matter of fact, I did read the paragraph in Mr. McNicoll's article which was publishedyesterday, and I understood from it that some investigations were being made by the Criminal Investigation Branch. I was not previously aware that investigations werebeing made, nor that any improper practices were alleged in connexion with the working of the division. I shall certainly ask the Minister for Trade and Customs whether he has any knowledge of these matters. For the time being, there is no need for me to make a statement about something of which 1 know nothing.
