Mr SHEEHY (Boothby) .- Time inarches on, and to-day brings about a parting between myself and' a* man with whom I have been associated for many years. The Minister for the Navy (Mr. Makin), in the various public positions that he has held, has proved himself to be a great Australian. It is my firm belief that every man who enters public life endeavours to do the 'best that he can for Australia. Norman Makin has achieved that objective. Having been associated with him for a long time, 1 have no doubt as to the results of his work as Australia's Ambassador in the United States of America. He and his family have every reason to be proud, of his achievements in his political life-time. I associate myself with the remarks of other honorable members.
