Mr FORDE (CAPRICORNIA, QUEENSLAND) (Minister for the Army) - The Defence Department is at present considering this matter, but I do not think that a decision has yet been reached. The Government fully appreciates the splendid service rendered by the Volunteer Defence Corps in the darkest hours of Australia's history, and I believe that members of the force shouldreceive some suitable recognition, perhaps of the kind suggested by the honorable member.
