Mr Rankin n asked the Minister for Commerce and Agriculture, upon notice-

1.   Was Mr. Noel Barrett engaged for some time as agriculture adviser to the Minister?

2.   If so, when did he relinquish that position ?

3.   Was this the Mr. NoelBarrett who, at a meeting of wheat-growers at Tamworth in March stated - (a) that all the Government had offered wheat-growers was equalization, not stabilization and (b) that, if a sound scheme was to be evolved, it must be controlled by the industry and not by the Government?

4.   What is the Minister's reply to Mr Barrett's statements?


Mr Scully - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follows : -

1.   Yes.

3.   Yes.
