Mr Francis s asked' the Minister for Works and Housing, upon notice-^-

1.   How many homes were made available for ex-servicemen between the time the War Service Homes Act came into operation in 1919 and the end of 1941?

2.   How many war service homes were built in each State in 1942,' 1943, 1944, 1945 and 194G to date?

3.   How many applications for war service homes are at present waiting to be met in each State?


Mr Lazzarini - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follows : -

1.   To 30th June, 1941, homes built andassisted to build, 21,430; homes purchased, 12,995; homes on which mortgages were discharged, 2,984; a total of 37,409. .

1.   How many applications for the building of war service homes in Queensland have been received for each of the years 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945 and for the first five months of 1946?

2.   How many applications in each period have been granted?

3.   How many houses in each period have been completed ?

4.   How many applications for building war service homes have been received, and how many houses have been completed in the following cities and towns for each of the years 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945 and for the first five months of 1946: - Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Gympie, Rockhampton, Warwick, Townsville, Bowen, Maryborough and Bundaberg?
