Mr FRANCIS - In view of the fact that dismissals from the Commonwealth Munitions Factory at Footscray have been described' by a returned soldier in Queensland as a gross betrayal of exservicemen and of the promises made to them, will the Minister for Munitions say whether the Government intends to dismiss more returned soldiers when reducing the war-time staffs of munitions establishments? If the magistrate's decision voiding preference in the Commonwealth munitions factories is found to be correct, will the Government take immediate steps to amend the Re-establishment and Employment Act so as to ensure that preference to ex-servicemen in Commonwealth employment shall be fully preserved ?
