Mr SCULLY (GWYDIR, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Commerce and Agriculture) -I admit that there has been an unpardonable delay in furnishing final information to the honorable member. I assure him, however, that it was not due to any ill intent on my part ; advice to the honorable member was overlooked by the department. Interim replies, were forwarded to those honorable members who had made representations in this connexion, but it was not until yesterday that they received the final notification of the Government's intention to continue this control for the 1946-47 season. The only other interests which had been previously notified, other than through the public announcement, were the Ministers for Agriculture in the various States which were represented at the meeting of the Agricultural Council at which the resolution to continue the control was agreed to. As the representatives of Tasmania were the chief movers for the continuance of the control, they were notified through official channels as soon as the decision was made. I regret the delay in advising the honorable member and accept my full share of the blame for it.
