Mr MAKIN (HINDMARSH, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) (Minister for Aircraft Production) - The honorable member will a ppreciate that Darwin must always play an important part in Commonwealth defence plans. Security must at all times take precedence over any other consideration. The workshops required for the Navy must be adjacent to the wharfs. The needs of the naval services must be met in the most convenient manner. Naval buildings must be erected on sites that will make for the most efficient service possible. However, I shall certainly have a further investigation made to ascertain whether anything can be done to give effect to the suggestion of the honorable member.
