Mr CHIFLEY (Macquarie) (Prime Minister and Treasurer) . - The matters raised by the honorable member for Wide Bay (Mr. Corser) and the right honorable member for Cowper (Sir Earle Page) will be examined. The right honorable member for Cowper made a number of requests; some of them fall within the ambit of State activity. The demand for earth-moving equipment throughout Australia is enormous, and supplies are inadequate to meet it. Earth-moving equipment obtained under the lend-lease agreement cannot be released until we have reached an arrangement with the United States of America. The right honorable gentleman's representations will be examined with a view to seeing how the Commonwealth Government can assist.

Questions resolved in the affirmative.
