Mr McEwen n asked the Treasurer, upon notice -

1.   What was the total cost of taking the Powers Referendum and of conducting the Government publicity campaign in support of it?

2.   What was the cost of taking the ballot and providing the necessary staff, material and polling places?

3.   What was the cost of (a) printing, and (b ) distributing the official " Yes " and " No " case?

4.   What was the cost to the Government of the publicity and propaganda campaign conducted by the Department of Information, showing separately (a) press, (b) radio, and (c) books and pamphlets?

a.   What was the cost of any other publicity for which the Government accepted responsibility and what was the nature of such publicity?
