Mr Blackburn n asked the Prime Minister, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact that the MacRobertson Girls' High School was acquired for military purposes and is not now so used?

2.   If so, will this school he now restored to the Victorian Department of Education?

3.   Is it a fact that the Victorian Department of Education has been unable to find suitable premises for the girls by whom the High School was compulsorily vacated?

Mr Curtin - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follows : -

1.   Yes.

2.   The school is at present occupied for Royal Australian Air Force and Naval purposes. On the 12th September, however, 1 directed that the matter be considered by a War Cabinet Committee to ascertain whether it was practicable to return the school to the Victorian Department of Education.

3.   While the actual position is not known, it is understood that the girls have been located at other premises.
