Mr WARD (EAST SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Labour and National Service) - I understand that certain canteen facilities are provided in Great Britain. In Australia, the welfare section of the Department of Labour and National Service has given much thought to the subject of the provision of such facilities for workers, and at present it is concentrating its activities in that regard on government establishments mci annexes. It is also endeavouring to encourage private employers to provide canteens for their employees. One of the difficulties is the lack of supplies, but the welfare section is pressing on with the work, and hopes later to be in a position to provide these facilities for all workers.
