Mr CURTIN (FREMANTLE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) (Prime Minister) - I can only express astonishment that the Director of the Associated Chambers of Manufactures of Australia should have made such a statement. It is utterly without foundation. I need only say that the provisions to meet the requirements of the budget are those that are set out in the papers that have been circulated to the Committee of Supply, and that this Government does not intend to raise a financial loan in the United States of America, Australia, of course, receives from that, country lease- lend material. That, however, is subject to the terms of an agreement, of which honorable gentlemen already have knowledge.
