Mr ROSEVEAR - Will the Minister for Labour and National Service inform me whether his office was in any way responsible for the selection of the staff of the Allied Works Council in Sydney; whether the personnel was chosen by the Director of Man Power under an agreement reachedwith the Premiers in Canberra; or whether they were selected by the Theodore-Packer coterie, which operates in the Allied Works Council?

Mr WARD - The Department of Labour and National Service had nothing whatever to do with the selection of the staff of the Allied Works 'Council in Sydney. I have no knowledge of the arrangement under which the personnel was chosen, but I shall endeavour to secure the information from the Minister for the Interior.
