Mr DEDMAN - I have made inquiries on this subject, but they have not revealed that underselling is practised to any great degree. I point out to the honorable member that it is not possible for the Government to issue an order compelling retailers to sell a particular quota, either of clothing or of any other commodity offered for sale.

Mr Clark - If the Government can fix a minimum, it can fix a maximum.

Mr DEDMAN - I repeat that that is not possible. In view of the impending introduction of the coupon system, I do not consider that it is necessary for my department to take any further action in this matter.
