Mr FALSTEIN (Watson) .- I desire to know whether the word " dissolved " in the amendment is used in its legal sense, namely, that a marriage has been dissolved as the result of a petition for the dissolution of a marriage, or as a result of some similar application to a competent court; or whether the word is to be interpreted according to general usage to cover a wife who, having become dissatisfied with her husband, has separated from him. In such an instance would the marriage be regarded as having been dissolved, and would the woman be entitled to the benefits of this legislation ?

Mr Holloway - The word must be interpreted in a legal sense.

Amendment agreed to.
