Mr JOLLY (Lilley) .-Before agreeing to the proposed amendment, the committee ought to be aware of what it means. Does the honorable member for Dalley (Mr. Rosevear) mean that all a woman would have to do in order to qualify for a widow's pension would be to start legal proceedings for maintenance? What would happen if she succeeded in such proceedings?

Mr Rosevear - She would not qualify for the pension. A woman maintained by her husband could not draw the pension.
