Mr RIORDAN (KENNEDY, QUEENSLAND) - A business depression has descended upon the city of Cairns as the result of the evacuation of a section of the community, and its geographical proximity to the war zone. The National Security (Debtors' Relief) Regulations do not adequately cover all cases of distress, and the business community is carrying on only by utilizing its very limited reserves. As many business men in Cairns are on the verge of ruin, will the acting Attorney-General consider the advisability of proclaiming a moratorium to grant them relief?
