Mr HOLLOWAY - Every precaution has been taken by the Commonwealth Department of Health for the purpose of ensuring that adequate medical supplies are provided in all States. The DirectorGeneral of Health, Dr. Cumpston, and departmental officials have visited all States and have paid particular attention to hospitalization and the provision of an adequate supply of drugs for the purpose of meeting the demands that would be imposed by an evacuation. Arrangements were also made for the distribution of sera, anti-toxins and drugs for civil and military use. The department is endeavouring to get the maximum number of man-hours out of doctors in order to meet civil and military needs.
