Mr MARWICK - If a national government were formed, the Minister for Labour and National Services (Mr. Ward) would find himself on the back benches. My desire for a national government is due to my earnest wish that the very best brains of the Parliament shall be at the service of the country in these momentous times. I support the remarks of the honorable member for Flinders (Mr. Ryan) in this connexion. To-day certain honorable gentlemen opposite are endeavouring to administer the affairs of their departments without the requisite experience. We need the best brains of the nation to help us to make a maximum war effort.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
