Sir GEORGE BELL - The honorable member cannot deny that the cattle on the Werribee farm are fed on the product of filth. If he has ever been at Werribee he must have seen the way in which the land is swamped inches deep with the sewage of Melbourne, and I have seen the cattle put out to graze while the filth is still on the grass. Personally, I do not care what the people of Melbourne eat; it is not my concern, but I do protest against the troops beings forced to eat beef that the civil population of Melbourne will not eat.
