Mr FALSTEIN - I direct the attention of the Prime Minister to the following passage in a report in the SydneyMorningHerald of the 20th March : -

Mr. Casey'saffluence ; he comes of a wealthy family and his extensive mining mid pastoral interests - enabled him to provide a (iiia background to his work in Washington.

What salary and allowances were paid to the Minister in Washington? Did his work involve anything more than representing to the Government of the United States of America the views of the Commonwealth Government, with a proper regard to the common-sense of the immediate situation?
