Mr BEASLEY - Yesterday, the honorable member for Dalley (Mr. Rosevear) asked whether it was permissible for country storekeepers in New South Wales to charge .sales tax on the landed cost of goods reaching country shops. The normal practice is for sales tax to be added by the wholesaler to the invoice at the point of sale by the wholesaler. This does not normally include any tax on freight on orders delivered to country storekeepers. If the honorable member will report to the Commonwealth Prices Commissioner any cases of the practice to which he referred, suitable action will be taken.
