Mr MAHONEY - Some six weeks ago I made representations to the Chief Engineer of the Postmaster-General's Department, Hobart, in connexion with the frequent breaking down of telephonic communication between Tasmania and the mainland, and I was informed by the engineer that the breakdowns were caused by the wires being insufficient to carry the load. I now ask the PostmasterGeneral if that information is correct?
