Mr MAHONEY (DENISON, TASMANIA) - Three weeks ago I asked the Postmaster-General to investigate the frequent breakdowns in connexion with the cable from Victoria to Tasmania across Bass Strait, as telephonic communications were being seriously affected. He said that the matter would be investigated. The wires had been in use for upwards of twenty years. Has he any further information of the subject?
