Mr McHUGH (Wakefield) . - I understand that recently the Prime Minister (Mr. Menzies) conferred with honorable members from both parties opposite, who represent wheat-growing districts, in connexion with the difficulties confronting the wheat industry. Is the Prime Minister, or the Minister for Commerce (Senator McLeay), prepared to receive a similar committee from this side?

Mr Menzies - I do not know to what conference the honorable member is referring.

Mr McHUGH - It was reported in the press that conferences were held in connexion with the wheat industry with honorable members from both parties opposite, who represent wheat-growing districts.

Mr Menzies - The fact is that I received a deputation from senators, and also a deputation from honorable members from Western Australia. I was asked to receive the deputations and I received them.

Mr McHUGH - Would the right honorable gentleman be prepared to receive a similar deputation from honorable members on this side?

Mr Menzies - Yes.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
