Mr SPEAKER (Hon G J Bell (DARWIN, TASMANIA)

Permission was given by me for the taking of the photographs. The matter of photographs in Parliament House has been raised previously, and I gave an assurance that permission would be given only under certain conditions. Those conditions were themselves suggested by the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. Curtin), but one of them has not been observed to-day. It has been reported to me that the photographer states that he misunderstood the instructions given. I shall have to give further consideration to the whole matter.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
