Mr Price e asked the Minister for Commerce, upon notice -

1.   Is it the intention of the Government to have Australia represented at the Golden Gate Exposition at San Francisco, United States of America, which opens on the 18th February, 1939.

2.   If so, what is the estimated amount of money which Australia proposes to spend on representation at this exposition, and what will be the nature of the display?


Sir Earle Page (COWPER, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Commerce) - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follows : -

1.   Australia will be represented at the Golden Gate Exposition at San Francisco next year.

2.   It is estimated that a sum of £17,000 will be spent on the exhibit which will be supervised by the Australian National Travel Association and will feature the travel attractions of Australia.
