Mr Mulcahy (LANG, NEW SOUTH WALES) y asked the Minister for Civil Aviation, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact that important work is being done by the Australian Air League?

2.   Will he consider subsidizing this important work of training aviators?

Mr Thorby - The aims and objectives of the Australian Air League are well known to the Departments of Defence and Civil Aviation which appreciate that the league is doing good work in promoting air-mindedness amongst the youth of Australia. It is regretted that there are no funds available to subsidize the league either from the Air Force or Civil Aviation votes for 193S-39.
